LessonKorean verbs in 3 steps

박쌤 In the dictionary, every verb ends with 다: 가다 (go), 먹다 (eat), 하다 (do).

박쌤 Step 1: remove 다. 가다 → 가, 먹다 → 먹.

박쌤 Step 2: look at the last vowel. ㅏ or ㅗ → add 아요. Anything else → add 어요. 먹 + 어요 = 먹어요.

박쌤 Step 3: vowels merge. 가 + 아요 = 가요. 마시 + 어요 = 마셔요. And 하다 always becomes 해요.

박쌤 The thing you eat or drink takes 을 / 를: 밥을 먹어요. The place you go to takes 에: 학교에 가요.
